The first chapter of the collection finds Carolina, and the Herrera woman, transported to the romantic gardens of La Vega, the Herrera family estate in Venezuela.

The late 70s and early 80s take Carolina and her family to New York, in her quest to conquer Seventh Avenue. As a mother of four young children in the midst of founding her own business, soft romantic layers are replaced with disciplined and considered tailoring, an image of feminine power and control in an otherwise male-dominated industry.
