Among the ateliers that continue to uphold this tradition is Ferran Abanicos, founded in 1942 and based in Aldaya, just outside Valencia. Today, the workshop is led by three women: Cristina Moreno, who oversees the creative direction; Lucía Folgado, head of production; and Mari Carmen Moreno, an artisan specialized in the fabric work and assembly of each fan. Together, they maintain a craft passed down through generations, producing fans with precision, consistency, and care.

For the Spring 26 show in Madrid, Carolina Herrera collaborated with Ferran Abanicos to create a custom opera fan as the official show invitation. Crafted in engraved wood and finished in Herrera red, the piece was designed as a thoughtful gesture — rooted in place, made by hand, and deeply connected to the values of the House.
