Ferran Abanicos and the Spring 26 Show Invitation

In Spain, the fan is more than an accessory — it is part of a shared visual and cultural language. Nowhere is this tradition more deeply rooted than in Valencia, a region with centuries of expertise in fan making, access to high-quality wood, and a strong culture of craftsmanship.

Among the ateliers that continue to uphold this tradition is Ferran Abanicos, founded in 1942 and based in Aldaya, just outside Valencia. Today, the workshop is led by three women: Cristina Moreno, who oversees the creative direction; Lucía Folgado, head of production; and Mari Carmen Moreno, an artisan specialized in the fabric work and assembly of each fan. Together, they maintain a craft passed down through generations, producing fans with precision, consistency, and care.

For the Spring 26 show in Madrid, Carolina Herrera collaborated with Ferran Abanicos to create a custom opera fan as the official show invitation. Crafted in engraved wood and finished in Herrera red, the piece was designed as a thoughtful gesture — rooted in place, made by hand, and deeply connected to the values of the House.
