Bridging Creativity: A ‘Women in the Arts’ Exchange Between FIT and Kourtrajmé

In an era where artistic disciplines are increasingly interconnected, a recent collaboration between the Carolina Herrera Social Justice Scholars and students from Paris-based Kourtrajmé film school underscored the power of cross-disciplinary exchange.

Through ‘Carolina Herrera for Women in the Arts’, the house has worked with emerging filmmakers from Kourtrajmé, a tuition-free Paris-based program that seeks to democratize filmmaking education. The partnership has led to a series of creative projects, including short films inspired by the house’s iconic Good Girl fragrance. Now, this relationship has expanded, fostering new opportunities for artistic dialogue.

As part of this commitment, Kourtrajmé students Camelia Ben and Amanda Beauville traveled to New York to meet the Carolina Herrera Social Justice Scholars at FIT—marking the first-ever crossover between ‘Carolina Herrera for Women in the Arts’ initiatives.

“They’re just like us—different country, different field of work, but it’s still about creativity,” Ben reflects on the experience.

During their visit, Ben and Beauville toured FIT’s campus alongside Paloma Sánchez Maria, Jasmin Mendoza, and Asha Bryant, recipients of the Carolina Herrera Social Justice Scholars Program. The exchange offered an opportunity to discuss their creative journeys, forge new connections, and build a cross-cultural network of young women shaping the future of the arts.

“It’s important that women see themselves in positions of power,” Bryant says.

Ben and Beauville captured these moments in a series of short films, including one highlighting Asha Bryant, the latest scholarship recipient.
